Margaret Shepherd
MY SHORT BIO:
After attending grad school at UNH, Margaret fell in love with the Seacoast area and never left. Her career in education began as an elementary school counselor with the Portsmouth School system. Discovering the fun of the Portsmouth restaurant scene back in the 80s, and “before children”, she took a hiatus from education and enjoyed working in restaurant management in Portsmouth for a number of years. After becoming a mother, wanting to devote more time to her son, she decided to return to her work with young children. Her career included teaching elementary school special education and general education as the inclusion teacher, and after obtaining her CAGS in Educational Leadership from the University of New England, Margaret worked as an elementary school principal for 18 years.
Kittery Point has been Margaret’s home for the past 33 years. It was a wonderful place to raise her two sons, and just as special in her retirement. She loves walking her Golden, Ike, on the beautiful beaches, kayaking down Chauncey Creek, and she even did the Gerrish Island Bridge jump once on a family dare!
